At Bikey Wipes, we are committed to creating products that elevate the cycling experience and honour the low-carbon impact cycling leaves on the Earth.
Cycling is one of the most sustainable modes of transport.
Yet it is one of the slowest in the sports industry to address its wider impact upon the environment, supply chain, responsible production and waste generation.
After cycling became a talking point at COP26* in 2021, there has been a slight shift in the way businesses, manufacturers and marketing agencies in the global cycling industry have been addressing their environmental & social impact.
However post-covid this shift has been slow, and to complicate matters ‘sustainability’ in it of itself can be complex and confusing.
When we conceptualised Bikey Wipes it was with the intention to create a product that was not just quick & easy to use but sensible and convenient in how it was re-used or disposed of. But in this digital information age, it can be tricky to navigate the boundless knowledge of sustainability, correct waste disposal, premium sports gear (and its production ethics) and so on. So we’ve carefully crafted our messaging to be simple and easy to follow so that you can get back to what you love (cycling) without harming the environment.
*COP refers to an meeting of 196 States (countries) to make key decisions around the international environmental treaty issued by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Being conscious of our impact upon our planet now and into the future is a principle we have embedded in our product design.
We hope that our design considerations become second-nature to our supporters when they want to purchase tools, gear or apparel for their cycling pursuits.

Used wipes can be disposed of in a green bin, community compost bin or your own home composter.

Bikey Wipes are suitable for all bikes and riders - whether you ride for adventure, to work/school or professionally!
What’s more- they are hand-safe, so you don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals when cleaning your bike.
Bikey Wipes can decompose into compost (a nutrient-rich soil) under managed conditions in a green/compost bin.
Our wipes only take a few weeks to decompose, rather than conventional wet wipes which can take up to 100 years!

We wanted to create a product that symbolized the spirit of cycling: freedom, dedication, and wellbeing. For that to come to life, it meant that intentional, clean and ethical product design was and is imperative. In our minds, what we use to clean our bikes must be responsibly made, be high-quality, and contribute to resource circularity.
To our surprise, there aren’t many, if any, bike cleaning products that address all of these points.
So, we took on the challenge to create a product (or 2 or 3…) that allowed cyclists to clean their bikes easily, without water and with minimal resource waste.
After 12 months of research and product development, we have successfully created the only zero-plastic, compostable cleaning wipes suitable for all components of your bike.
